After inspiring Nigerian music for more than two decades, long after he is dead, Nigerian Afro beatz Legend "FELA" comes again this time ti influence African fashion. According to a rep for Kancky, the collection “was influenced by the
life and achievements of the late musician, political maverick and human
rights activist Fela Anikulapo Kuti.” The creative team at the label also drew inspiration from the Yoruba
cultural heritage, opting for the Adire fabric and combining it with
contemporary fabrics including silk, wool and cotton.
The model used for the shoot had her hair traditionally styled in
bantu knots. She also had on traditional African bangles and anklet. She
brought the whole afrocentric look to the fore. Check them out
